RedRidge Product Development
Based in Boulder Colorado, RedRidge was originally formed with a primary focus on the development of C & X band phased array radars and supporting components, but has since expanded to offer design and development services across a wide range of electronic products.
Our goal is to build a world class research and development group, and make that level of technical capability available to companies of all sizes. We understand that for many small companies it doesn’t make sense to invest in the expensive test equipment required to have in-house capabilities like EMC/EMI compliance pre-screening, antenna characterization & tuning, etc.. Large firms on the other hand may have the ability to easily outfit another hardware development team, but they often need those projects started today – and can’t afford to wait the 6 months plus it can take to find and recruit niche senior level engineering talent. And these days many companies, whether they’re new or not, find themselves in the position of a rapidly growing start up, where they may have both the in-house capabilities investment and top tier technical staff, but simply need more of both as quickly as they can get it.
Fundamentally, we want to see the rate of technical innovation maximized across all of the industries we work in. Whether you’re making surgical equipment or commercial HVAC controllers, we understand there are people waiting to get their hands on your new products. And we want to help make that happen as quickly and smoothly as possible.
RedRidge is built on an design process that we’ve developed over years spent in the research and development world. Our process prioritizes design flexibility and transparency with our clients. We see too many product development companies that go our of their way to erect a layer of middle-men between their client and the development team, and we don’t think that serves anyone. Proactive project management and tracking scope changes are obviously critical to a project’s success, but if you’ve ever dealt with large engineering firms chances are you’ve experienced having these weaponized against you over trivial details.
RedRidge is a small team, which we’re quite happy with, and we try to fully leverage all the advantages that come with that. We’re able to adapt to changes quickly, and avoid creating unnecessary bureaucratic overhead. We also believe in working directly with our clients to make their products succeed, rather than obfuscating the process from them.
